Leaving Lightly with Rev. Jan Kraft

Exploring the Leaving Lightly Program with Rev. Jan Kraft

2ET/1CT/12MT/11PT - Friday March 6th, 20206.

Join us for our next Navigator Lunch & Learn featuring Rev. Jan Kraft, creator of the Leaving Lightly program.

Rev. Kraft brings a unique and compassionate perspective to end-of-life planning, shaped by her background in law, interfaith ministry, and years of experience supporting families through death and legacy planning. Through her work, she has developed Leaving Lightly—a thoughtful, step-by-step course designed to help individuals prepare for the end of life with clarity, dignity, and peace of mind.

During this session, Rev. Kraft will introduce the Leaving Lightly program and walk us through its comprehensive framework. The course guides participants through five essential areas of preparation:

  • Organizing personal and financial information

  • Preparing healthcare directives

  • Establishing legal safeguards

  • Planning for physical remains and memorial wishes

  • Preserving memories, stories, and legacy

More than simply completing documents, Leaving Lightly offers a structured and reflective process that reduces stress for families and transforms planning into an act of love and intention.

This Lunch & Learn is especially valuable for End of Life Planning Navigators, professionals in the field, and anyone seeking a more holistic approach to guiding others through end-of-life preparation.

Join us as we explore how thoughtful preparation can bring clarity today, and peace for the future.

Leave Only Love: Jill McCurdy

One of the most overlooked parts of end-of-life planning is what happens to our material possessions. And yet, for many families, sorting through belongings after a death can be one of the most emotionally and logistically overwhelming experiences they face.

On February 6, EoLP is hosting a special Lunch & Learn that gently brings this topic into the light. This session will explore how working through belongings before the end of life can be a profound act of care; one that reduces burden, honors meaning, and supports those we love.

Our presenter will share insights from a new book she is developing, focused on helping people reflect on their belongings, make intentional choices, and release what no longer serves them. During the Lunch & Learn, participants will walk through a practical section of this work together, seeing how it can be thoughtfully used with clients in real-life end-of-life planning conversations.

Letting go of possessions isn’t about minimalism or productivity, it’s about love, clarity, and care. When we help someone navigate their belongings with compassion, we help ease the emotional weight left behind for families and caregivers.

This session is especially meaningful for End of Life Planning Navigators and others who are drawn to supporting people through life transitions, organizing with heart, and honoring legacy in gentle, human ways.

We hope you’ll join us on February 6th at Noon MT. You can learn more about Jill McCurdy’s work here.

Plant Medicine

Join us for a nourishing Lunch & Learn designed specifically for our Navigators as we explore the world of plant medicine through the lenses of science, lineage, and grounded practice. This session offers an accessible, thoughtful introduction to the history and modern applications of psychoactive plant medicines, with a focus on helping people find clarity, connection, and perspective at the end of life

Together, we’ll examine how plant medicine traditions have evolved, from ancient ceremonial lineages to today’s growing body of scientific research, and how these practices can inform compassionate, holistic end-of-life care. You’ll learn about the neurological mechanisms that shape these experiences, the documented benefits for individuals facing end-of-life anxiety, and the ethical considerations that guide safe, respectful engagement with these medicines.

This session is designed to help Navigators strengthen their confidence, expand their capacity, and deepen their ability to hold space for others. Whether you’re new to the topic or looking to enrich your existing understanding, you’ll leave with practical insight, grounded knowledge, and a clearer sense of how these tools may show up in the lives of the people you support.
